Great post JW! That bit.ly graph is interesting; I have YouTube videos that I uploaded years ago still getting a fair amount of views. It’s weird!
I’m a little confused about:
* Bit.ly recently looked at their links to determine their half-life. The results were interesting.
o Twitter – 2.8 hours
o Facebook – 3.2 hours
o Direct traffic (Emails, IMs, etc.) – 3.4 hours
o YouTube – 7.4 hours
* Bit.ly’s conclusion, “the lifespan of your link is connected more to what content it points to than on where you post it: on the social web it’s all about what you share, not where you share it!”
It seems as thought it DOES matter where you share it, if in fact YouTube’s half life is double as long. Right?
Thank’s for the link to the Google+ resources. just what I have been looking for.
