SEO + User Experience: Like Peanut Butter & Chocolate
I spoke on an SEO panel at the 2011 Seattle Interactive Conference. The title of our session was “SEO & User Experience: Like Peanut Butter & Chocolate”. I was asked to relate a specific story about how we combined SEO practices with improvements in user experience to get results. So I presented a case study on work we did last year for our client NeighborhoodNotes.com to reduce the number of links on pages to improve both the user experience and gain search results.

Seattle Interactive published a video of the session. So now you can watch my presentation in real live moving pictures. The slide deck is below as well.

Hi Ben,
Very cool presentation, I think psych folks call it the Law of Scarcity. I never really thought about that from a conversion standpoint. I do now – thanks! Hopefully I’ll run into you soon, I need to get my butt down to an SEMpdx event.
Thanks for the comment Matt. Yeah – I really like the idea of examining how less is more. Hope to see you at an SEMpdx event soon.
Boom! Good line. I’m impressed by the increase in traffic and indexed pages. Very good presentation. I wish I could have been there.
