Sphinn.com launches, SEM’s Immediately Start a Popularity Contest

3

Talk about people who love to hear themselves talk, er, type. Sphinn.com – a social networking site targeted at SEM’s – recently launched with little fanfare. However, it didn’t take long for search marketers to go crazy submitting content and experimenting with what will get “Sphinns” (votes) for their posts and push them to the top of the lists. Sphinn is already a who’s who of search marketing, and as one would expect – these folks have already made their presence known and get a lot of “Sphinns” (votes) for everything they post. The interesting thing though is that it’s still relatively easy to get your posts seen – so lesser-known SEM’s have been posting up a storm in an effort to drive up their popularity. With less noise, it also feels much easier to participate in discussions and befriend the industry’s luminaries.
