Do You Really Need To Ask?

1

Ask.com recently revamped their search platform and introduced Ask3D and I have to say I’m impressed. It’s a bold move considering Google launched their new universal search less than a month ago.

Jennifer Laycock, writer for the Search Engine Guide, reviewed the new features and options on Ask.com and the biggest improvement is the integration of their Morph technology. Users type in a search query and Ask.com responds with the right information, from the right sources, in the right place, at the right time. (Maybe they should consider calling themselves Right.com?) They’ve added a third column to the search results page featuring images, videos, encyclopedia & news story listings. This eliminates the need to cram all this info onto one page (and pushes other relevant to subsequent pages). Efficiency just got a make-over (it’s so pretty!).

I feel like a kid in a candy store – so much to choose from, where do I start? Well, I’m going to join Jennifer on her “one-week-of-ask” search plan. Google is still my first choice, but things could change…Gotta give kudos to the little guy playing with the big dogs.

On a side note. Ask.com launched this great TV spot featuring their new and improved site. AWESOME!
