Changes for Yahoo!

0

Terry Semel leaves, Jerry Yang’s back in charge. What will this mean? I don’t know – that’s why I read the New York Times. Are they going to get out of the search engine business & outsource to Google? Interesting question – and not without merit. I have to tell you- it’s not popular to say, but I like Yahoo. It’s a great search engine. With respect to our clients and their paid search campaigns – when we’re dealing with certain target markets – we’ve been able to run circles around Google AdWords performance with Yahoo!. Yahoo! is still in a position to succeed. They still have a tremendous number of monthly visitors,  they’re consistently the #1 most visited site on the Web, and a lot of those visitors use the search box while they’re on Yahoo!

I really hope they don’t end up shopping out search to Google. MSN search sucks. They’ll never get it and they’re way too far behind. Ask is cool – but who uses it? Yahoo! is our best bet to keep the playing field interesting.
