Event Recap: Oregon Wine Industry Symposium

I’ve been back to the office & settling in after visiting Eugene earlier this week for the “Making Your Website Work Harder for You” session. I haven’t been to Eugene since WAY back when I was going to Oregon State (for that one year) and ended up there after a crazy night that had something to do with Mad Dog 20/20, a “killer party going on in Eugene tonight”, and a ride with some people that were friends of my cousin/roommate… Needless to say I don’t remember much from that trip. What I found out from THIS trip was that I haven’t been missing out on anything. Eugene’s a little, uh, boring. But I digress…

I was in serious danger of having a similar story this time around because on the night before our session, Janet, Dennis & myself all went to the Oregon Wine Industry’s annual awards dinner. There was something like 15 different wines included with dinner, not to mention the bottles that our table mates brought with them. Yikes. Thankfully Maria came to dinner with me, and kept reminding me that I had to be coherent the next morning.

Anyway, I was going to write up a quick synopsis of what we all spoke about - but Janet already did all the work for me. You can check out her post “Sharing Simple Engaging Stories” on her blog. I will say that it was a great session, and we have been told that we received a LOT of positive feedback. So, fingers crossed that a.) they’ll bring me back next year, and b.) the dinner will be AFTER my presentation next time around…
