Amplify Interactive Takes “First Loser” at AMA Max Awards 2011
Despite generating a 1,828% ROAS, Amplify Interactive’s PPC campaign for ZoomCare was only awarded with “Runner Up”. But they’re not bitter.

Portland, OR June 21, 2011 — Amplify Interactive, a search engine marketing (SEM) services firm, is kinda pleased to announce that they have received runner up (aka ‘first loser’) for the Single Medium advertising category at the 2011 American Marketing Association (AMA) Max Awards. Amplify Interactive’s pay-per-click (PPC) campaign for ZoomCare was recognized over 5 other marketing campaigns submitted to the category, but came up short in winning the award.
“After winning last year, I was confident that we would win again based purely on the ROAS we generated for our client,” said Christian Bullock, Senior Account Executive at Amplify Interactive. “While we came up short of winning, I’m truly happy about the work we’ve done for our client and the results we’ve shown with our entry.”
Others on the team tried to hide their disappointment “Second place is really the best place to be,” commented Jessica Ward, Account Executive at Amplify and project lead for ZoomCare. “You always need something to strive for!” As she choked back the tears and gulped down another glass of wine.
Amplify Interactive’s ALMOST award-winning PPC campaign was developed to help gain visibility for ZoomCare, a company that provides “on demand” urgent care and primary care from eight locations in the Portland-area. Amplify Interactive utilized an organized approach to PPC campaign development and management that incorporated rigorous search term research and constant ad copy testing that helped achieve a return on ad spend (ROAS) of 1,828%. Good results… but apparently not good enough for the win.
