yes the 301 redirects are really important! If your project is big a manual check for broken links might not be enough, but there are cool free tools for automatic broken link checks.

Aha I now see the difference Christian! Yes it seems to be important to cover all your bases as it were – 301′s custom 404 pages and robots.txt files and keep all the se’s in the world happy

Yep, totally forgot about setting up 301 redirects for indexed page for a site that I QA’d yesterday…

Real good idea to keep on eye on visits to the 404 error page.
